One of our seasoned members led the session, walking us through each step of tying the GD Shrimp. From securing the hook to adding the finishing touches, the instructions were easy to follow. We all tied along with him, step by step, ensuring everyone was on the same page.
Tying Time and Shared Tips
With the first GD Shrimp completed, most of us tied a second one on our own. One of the best things about these meetings is the camaraderie; the more experienced tiers are always happy to share tips and tricks with those who are just starting out.
Throughout the evening, we chatted about different techniques. From perfecting the whip finish to adding just the right amount of flash, we all learned a lot. This sharing of knowledge is what makes our fly tying meetings so valuable.
